Excitement turned to Sadness

Days before the MEAC/SWAC football game an Alumni asked if our chapter could support an underprivilege group of kids who play football at Champion Prep Academy in Atlanta who didn't have the grades nor funds to go to college to play the sport they love. Many of whom were not familiar with HBCUs. We raised $260 through selling tickets to help cover some of the cost of 45 tickets through the support of Kenny Johnson event at the Republic Friday night. Also private donations were received from local Alumni to reduce the $630 cost. I have decided to cover the difference without expecting funds from the Chapter's operating budget. Sadly, one of the young men who played on the team and attended the MEAC/SWAC Cricket Championship Football game died accidently in an elevator incident days after the game, 8.31.21. Many Alumni involved with Champion Prep Academy are grieving. Life is too short. Thanks for Alumni support to make a difference in the metro Atlanta community and at the University. No donation or support goes unnoticed or unappreciated. To support unexpected events in activities in Atlanta, etc. donations and memberships renewals and new memberships are always appreciated to help us make a difference; www.paypal.me/nccuatl or cashapp: $NCCUATL See article and pictures below. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsbtv.com/news/local/atlanta/man-crushed-death-elevator-accident-northeast-atlanta/UU6QHICTF5CW3EP5YMBBZY7JQU/%3foutputType=amp
